Measure the Leeb hardness value (HL) of the material, which is the ratio of rebound speed to impact speed.
measuring principle
When measuring with Piccolo 2, the impactor with a hard metal ball indenter will impact the sample to be measured, and then rebound under the push of the spring energy generated by this impact. Before and after the impact, the permanent magnet in the impact body will pass through a coil, and this forward and backward movement will generate a voltage signal V in the coil. This sensing signal is proportional to the velocity of the impactor. The ratio of rebound speed vr to impact speed vi multiplied by 1000 will result in the hardness value HL (Leeb hardness). HL is a direct measurement of hardness. When HLD refers to testing using a D-type device (a 27mm long impactor with a flat support ring), HLDL refers to testing using a lightweight probe from the DL accessory kit (an 82mm long impactor with a support ring with a slender probe).
